Together We Can Change The World!

Education

Education is the backbone for every civil economy and as Abode International we focus our attention on empowering communities in Uganda through sending the kids to school. We are currently responsible for sending 189 children to school where we fully cater for their tuition fees and scholastic materials. We would love to appreciate friends from ALL OVER the world that have partnered with us to provide termly scholastic materials to the kids. Our focus is currently in orphan’s Education and we in plans to launch our own school so your support is much appreciated.

Agriculture

Agriculture is the backbone of Uganda and we for we have been blessed with fertile soils so we indulge in subsistence farming to grow food for the children. We have a garden and grow bananas, maize on a small scale where we are able to harvest enough to get some food. We are still limited to small scale farming because of the land factor and with bigger land, we can be able to attain food security at the project and aswell as provide a balanced diet to the children. So pray for us so we get more land so we can do this on a larger scale and be able to sell some of the produce as an income generating activity.

Women Ministry

We target mothers and widows in order to empower them with practical skills, that will make them self sustainable. Widows are taught to raise animals e.g. poultry, turkeys and pigs for profit, and volunteers are expected to have knowledge of farming for better yield so they can sell the produce in exchange for household income. We also provide seeds to grow their own crops with the best farming practices. Women are also sensitized about how to prevent the spread the spread of HIV/AIDS and other killer diseases like Malaria. Through this the women have also been taught to promote community sanitation, and hygiene in the communities.

HIV Sensitization

This pandemic has been on the rise in villages due to ignorance and illiteracy. We therefore. We embark on fighting stigma, and promoting positive living in the infected. We also help the women understand their rights and to practice family planning. This helps them produce children that they can be able to look after hence reduce poverty levels in the communities.

Elderly Ministry

Our attention has been drawn to a vulnerable group that for long has not been noticed. The elderly are a very special category in every community because they are the pillars on which our current population is built on. At this latter stage of life, they are very vulnerable and require help to enable them cope up with the remaining part of their life. SIITA Nest ensures that elderly groups in the community receive the desired attention for the glory of God.

Youth Ministry

The youth are a special category of young adults who are very explorative and curious about the transition form childhood to adulthood. This is the perfect target group for an imputation of valuable information so we take advantage of that to positively influence their lives. We run sensitisation on life issuea, counselling programs, career guidance, skills education and bible education. These youth programs have all been designed to yield a better youth generation that will uphold the next generation in life. "Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."

Daughters of Ararat

This project was specifically initiated to address the rising numbers of girls who drop out of school due to pregnancies and other related girl abuses. The Daughters of Ararat works on restoration of hope to those who have completely been written off due to their circumstances. We provide the girls with skills and positive counselling to combat the stigma that's imposed by the community. You are welcome to support the D.o.A project abd help change lives of many young mothers and misfortuned girls as we stand for girl empowerment.

Foster Families

Foster care is the term used for a system in which a minor has been placed into a ward, group home, or private home of a state-certified caregiver referred to as a "foster parent". The placement of the child is usually arranged through the government or a social-service agency. The institution, group home or foster parent is compensated for expenses. SIITA NEST works through its arm called SIITA HEART OF THE COMMUNITY, to enhance the welfare of orphaned kids in Sironko district by placement in to foster families. Here the kids are introduced to a family setting that is intended to raise them as better family adults in the future.

Prison Ministry

We believe that no life is beyond the reach of God’s power, and we envision a future in which countless prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families, are redeemed, restored, and reconciled through the love and truth of Jesus Christ. Ministering to the incarcerated and their families can sometimes feel like visiting a foreign culture. We have groups that carry the good news to Kirinya and Luzira Prison inorder to restore hope to those who have been forgotten. "Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
